Amy Solomon
“Who looks upon a river in a meditative hour and is not reminded of the flux of all things”
Rivers are places of beauty and adventure. My art expresses emotion and recollections tranquility. I am working within a predominantly abstractionist context yet forging a representational art. I am making use of abstract expressionism, painterly freedom and spontaneity in order to document life around me. I depict the action of light on water, building up tone to achieve spatial density and weight on the surface of the canvas, while at the same time allowing he play of the brush stroke to articulate the movement of the light on water.
